How We Vet Our Mentalists

Anyone can call themselves a professional mentalist. Open marketplaces will list anyone who pays for a profile — and when entertainment fails at an event, it fails in front of everyone you invited. See Magic Live exists so that never happens to you.

Vetted by a working magician, not an algorithm

Every performer on our roster is personally vetted by founder Kostya Kimlat — the magician who famously fooled Penn & Teller, with two decades of corporate performances behind him. Kostya evaluates performers the way only a peer can: he knows the difference between a polished showreel and a performer who can hold a real room, because he’s spent his career in those rooms.

A written standard, not a gut feeling

Every mentalist who represents See Magic Live agrees to a set of team standards Kostya created — covering not just the magic, but everything around it. Skill gets a performer considered; the standards are what keep them on the roster. We look for performers who are not only extraordinary at what they do, but genuinely wonderful people to have in your event space.

What the standards cover, concretely

Material selected and tailored to your audience — a corporate gala and a bat mitzvah do not get the same act. A completed pre-show checklist before every event, from props to running order. Professional attire appropriate to your occasion. Reliable, planned transportation — punctuality is treated as part of the performance. And homework before arrival: who the client contact is, what the schedule looks like, who the audience is, and what a successful night means to you.

The match is the service

Booking through us isn’t choosing a name from a list. Tell us about your event — the audience, the venue, the moment you want to create — and we match you with the performer whose strengths fit it. It’s the difference between hiring a mentalist and getting the right one.
